Friday Ramblings

No pictures today–I’m still writing up the pattern for Starbuck’s Mandala hat, and knitting away on the Sawtooth Skirt and Lace Ribbon Scarf. (Dad’s socks are once again on hiatus while I search for more yarn to complete the toe.)

I’ve noticed a number of non-knitting entries creeping in here, and I’m thinking of starting a second blog for my non-knitting domestic pursuits. I have a number of goals that I want to pursue, but I don’t want to clutter up this blog with all of that so much that it detracts from the knitting. I’m not sure, though, if I want to juggle two blogs.

This weekend, my goal is to write up the mandala pattern, make some serious progress on the skirt, and do my taxes. Exciting, right? But they need to be done and the sooner I get them in the sooner I get my refund and Bush’s bonus economic stimulus check or whatever he’s calling it. I don’t particularly care what it’s called–all I know is it means I can get a new mattress and stop waking up with headaches every morning as a result of sleeping on a 30+ year old mattress.

I won’t, however, be buying yarn with it. As much as I’d like to, I really need to be knitting my way through my stash, not adding to it.  Unless I have a very specific project in mind–no more yarn. And those projects have to be balanced out with stash-busting ones.

Yeah. Let’s see how long I manage that.

I feel the need to point out - in a Charlie Young style - that it's not a tax cut, it's an advance...

But new mattresses ROCK. I got one a couple months ago and was super excited for weeks.
