The end is near, the end is near!
No, not the end of the world! The end of Socks for Seeley! Unbelievably, I am almost done. I was seriously worried for a while there, but I’m well into the toe decreases and should finish them up tonight. Then I can pop them in the mail this weekend!
These seem to knit up much faster than Dad’s never-ending socks. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re the second pair of men’s socks, and I was prepared for how ridiculously huge men’s feet are and had geared myself up for it (and made sure to buy enough yarn) or because I wasn’t suffering from holiday deadline sluggishness. Or maybe I’m just a faster knitter than I was a few years ago.
Aside from the socks, I’ve got lots of project ideas swirling about in my head–there are so many things I want to cast on for, but I really do need to finish some first. I’m starting to be slightly more project monogamous–as I make more things for myself and wear them, I’m inspired to actually finish projects and not just start them–but it’s hard. I’ve actually knit myself in to a corner–I put a limit on how many things I’d work on, but now I have no commuter-friendly knitting! Even the one small project I allowed myself to start needs a chart. Oops!
Eventually, I’m sure I’ll dig up something commute-worthy, but in the meantime I’m enjoying re-reading the Harry Potter series. How does Mrs. Weasley knit all those sweater? I know, magic, but still. That’s one impressive bout of knitting. I’m kinda jealous.
