FO: Under the Hoodie

I present to you: Under the Hoodie!

Under the Hoodie Modeled

Much thanks to coworker Julie for playing photographer.

Overall, I’m very happy with the way this turned out. If I make it again, I’ll add a couple of inches before the pocket–between the cropped sweater and the style of jeans I wear, it rode up a bit, leaving the small of my back cold all day. Also, the hem keeps flipping up in front, despite blocking. I think a few inches of plain stockinette before the pocket might help with that (since it doesn’t flip in the back I’m guessing it’s the added pull from the pocket that’s causing the flip in front.)

I love the way the colors turned out, and it was super comfortable. Yay Under the Hoodie!

Visits and Sweaters (Finally)

I did not knit much at all last weekend. Why? Because Elizabeth came to visit!

We wandered past (and briefly considered) the Harry Potter marathon in the Castro.

Ate sushi.

Looked at awesomely kitschy mugs at Holy Gelato (I sorta want to go back and buy this one.)

And discovered that, yes, there may be such a thing as TOO crafty.

Tonight, after lolling around all weekend and accomplishing nothing (oops) I finally decided to finish weaving in the ends on Under the Hoodie. After all, I only started it, what, two years ago? So I wove them in, and steam blocked it, scaring the crap out of Fred.

Blocking Under the Hoodie
It looks great, and I can’t wait to wear it tomorrow. I have no idea what the weather is supposed to be like, but my cube is freezing, so it doesn’t really matter. Mm, sweater.
